William Robinson Leigh (1866-1955) was one of the nation's most accomplished and prolific artists. Museums, collectors and insiders bid his paintings up to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Among the general public, however, his work has been under-publicized - until now - even though he received many honors. For example, he won the annual medal of the Royal Academy (Munich, Germany) six times in a row! He received the Scroll Award from the New York City Federation of Art; a citation from Kappa Pi National Art Fraternity; the first ever Alumni Honor Medal from the Maryland Institute, Baltimore; the Conservator Award of the National Life Conservation Society as distinguished wildlife artist, and was elected Academician by the National Academy of Design.
